Botox
Botox Cosmetic(TM) is FDA-approved for the cosmetic improvement of glabellar lines - the vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows.  Botox is also the only effective treatment for crow's feet, the creases at the corner of the eyes.  By injecting the depressor muscles in both the medial and lateral eyebrows, we can encourage unopposed elevation of the eyebrow - a chemical eyebrow lift.

Botox is also useful for horizontal forehead creases, although complete forehead paralysis is usually not desirable and may offset the lift achieved by near the eyebrows. The beauty of Botox is that treatment can be tailored to your face and your goals, whether they are a subtle reduction of squinting, or a complete relaxation of the muscles that make wrinkles.

Botox is a popular treatment for men and women alike, and has become the most common cosmetic procedure in the United States.

Small amounts of Botox are injected into the exact areas that will be affected. Pain is minimal, as the needles used are small- no sedation or local anesthetic are commonly used. Minimal bruising may occur, the most common side effect. Treatments usually last between three to six months.

Other side effects include nearby muscles being affected; this and other possible side effects will be discussed in detail when you come in for Botox treatment. However, because Botox is temporary, so are any side effects. Back to Top >>
